Pacific Blades is the SoCal Martial Blade Concepts Seminar with System Founder Michael Janich. The seminar was first offered in 2014. Since 2022 Pacific Blades has been dedicated to provide intermediate and advanced MBC Practicioners with the training needed to push their skills to the next level, whether the aspirations are to prepare for instructor testing or becoming as efficient and well rounded as possible in MBC and CBC.
2025 Pacific Blades will be the 10th edition of this event and will be held in Redondo Beach, California on March 15 and 16. This 2-day seminar will feature approx. 16 hours in all aspects of Martial Blade Concepts, Counter Blade Concepts and their related systems.
The group size for this seminar will be limited to provide every student with maximum opportunity to work directly with Mike. Pacific Blades 2025 will be dedicated to further the skills of advanced students. As such, participants must have fundamental knowledge of Martial Blade Concepts before attending. Understand the logic of MBC, including the approaches to stopping power and anatomical targeting.
Functional competency in the fundamental “Speed Stop” applications of MBC against angles 1-5 and overhead attacks.
Functional competency in both the Two-Step and One-Step versions of MBC’s Master Technique as it applies to “Speed Stop” applications.
Functional competency in MBC’s fundamental reflex-training or “flow” drills, including: Largo Mano, Outside-Outside, Hubud-Lubud, Six-Count, and Sumbrada.
Functional competency in the fundamental skills of Counter-Blade Concepts (CBC), including at a minimum, the Split-X, CBC 3/Left-Side Funnel, and the Compression Lock.
The Tuition for Pacific Blades 2025 is $325, due in full by February 15, 2025. The group size is limited to 26 Students. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first saved basis. Once the event is fully booked we will maintain a waiting list in the event of any cancellations.
